Project Overview
DASH Architects was commissioned by a professional couple to create a bespoke family home tailored to their needs and those of their young children. The project began with the removal of the existing house on the site, allowing for a fresh start and the opportunity to craft a completely new residence within a neighbourhood renowned for its distinctive character and charm.
The architectural approach pays homage to the surrounding streetscape by employing traditional forms, such as pitched roofs and carefully selected heritage-inspired materials. However, these elements are reinterpreted with contemporary detailing and finishes, resulting in a façade that is both respectful of its context and strikingly modern. This sensitive balance ensures that the new home contributes positively to the overall character of Eton Street while standing out for its thoughtful design.
Beyond the façade, the house reveals a highly functional and adaptable interior layout designed to suit the evolving needs of a growing family. The heart of the home is an expansive open plan kitchen, living, and dining area, which fosters a sense of connection and facilitates everyday family life. Large windows and sliding glass doors seamlessly link the indoor living spaces to a generous outdoor entertaining area and a sparkling swimming pool, creating a harmonious flow between inside and out.
