Project Overview
DASH Architects’ design for the Peacock Road Tramway Amenities illustrates how every project — no matter the scale — is an opportunity to create something distinctive and meaningful for our clients. The brief was straightforward: provide durable, vandal-resistant toilet facilities for tram drivers. The context, however, was far from simple — a rail corridor located within the National Heritage Listed Adelaide Park Lands.
Working within these parameters, DASH Architects set out to deliver a solution that was both practical and delightful — something with personality, perhaps even a little cheeky. The design employs a simple, functional form enlivened by ‘daisy fresh’ imagery that deters graffiti while offering an ironic visual counterpoint to the industrial rail setting. At the same time, it provides a sympathetic and engaging gesture to the broader landscape of the Adelaide Park Lands.
The result is both playful and contextual — a small yet memorable project that exemplifies DASH Architects’ philosophy of Architecture in Context.
